Marjorie Gurr Bailey passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2017. She was born in Waycross, Georgia on August 21, 1927.

She worked at the Florida National Bank in 1950 where she met her husband. She was a loving wife of 66 years and a loving mother and grandmother.

Over the years, Marge and her husband Bill, taught a number of people about Jesus who became Christians. She was a member of the Riverside Park Church of Christ for 42 years where she taught Sunday School. They moved to the Southside in 1981 and placed membership at San Jose Church of Christ where she has been a faithful member for 36 years. She was involved in several community organizations.

She was predeceased by her father, Frank Gurr; mother, Mollie Gurr; brothers, Frank Jr. and Mitchell; and her sister, Jeri Jordan. She is survived by her husband, William; daughter, Temple; and her grandchildren, William Jr., and Amy and Jay Roque.

A visitation will be on Thursday, December 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will be on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family requests in lieu of flowers friends may make donations to the American Diabetes Association or San Jose Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel.
