Funeral was held Saturday, February 6 at E. E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Bean Cemetery.
A native of Many, Louisiana, he lived in Kirbyville 56 years and was a retired water superintendent for the City of Kirbyville and the South Kirbyville Rural Water Supply Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Peters of Kirbyville; son, William R. Peters of Kirbyville, and a deceased son, Martin "Ponder" Peters; daughter, Jackie Holmes of Kirbyville; stepson, Curtis Jones of Old Salem; stepdaughter, Lynn Wood of Old Salem; brothers, T. J. Peters of Lumberton and Bill Peters of Victoria; sisters, Lois Burleson and Ola Lindsey, both of Mineral Wells, and Edna Roebuck of Alvin; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
