Mrs. Nancy Hughes died at the home of her son J.T DeShazo, 7 1/2 miles northwest of Chandler, after an extended illness. Mrs. Hughes was 69 years old and leaves three grown children to mourn her loss - two of whom reside in Indiana, from which state the deceased came to Lincoln County about 4 years ago. She was also the sister of Aaron Vandeveer and Mrs. Helen Walker, both of whom reside in Lincoln County.
Mrs. Hughes was a lady of many good qualities, being highly respected by all who knew her, all of whom deeply sympathize with the sorrowing relatives in their bereavement. She was buried in the Keller Cemetery(later renamed Pleasant Ridge Cemetery), a large number of neighbors and friends attending the funeral.
