Buster served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. For several years he worked as a Paramedic and Assistant Director with the Alamance County Rescue and EMS. He then worked as a general contractor before later retiring from Alley, Williams, Carmen and King Engineers and Architects. Buster was a member of Lakeview Community Church where he served as Deacon. He was a scout leader with Troop # 142 and was known for his incredible talent in woodworking. Buster was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Trudy of the home; daughter, Amber Aiken; son, Brent Parker and wife Stephanie; granddaughter, Brianna Paulette; beloved grandson, Cody Parker; mother, Vernell Wright; stepmother, Linda Aiken; brother, Jimmy Aiken and wife Juanita; sisters, Gail Sharpe, Clara Gurkin and Katrina Rickman and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James Aiken, Sr. and stepfather, Jim Wright.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Lakeview Community Church by Rev. Gerald Sanders with the burial to follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeview Community Church Youth Group, 101 Boone Rd., Burlington, NC 27217.
