Charles was born in Panama, Oklahoma. He graduated from Ball High School in Galveston, Texas. The next twenty years he served in the U. S. Navy, from Airman Recruit to Chief Warrant Officer 2. He worked in Navy Intelligence and as a legal officer while proudly serving his Country. He worked at Solar Turbines in San Diego, California for 20 years. retiring in 1999.
He lived a wonderful Christian life. Charles was a devoted family man, an avid gardener, artist, author, genealogist and track star. He was known for his witty sense of humor and generosity. He loved to sing and whistle. He ass a member of Gulf Parkinson's Source in Dickinson and Houston Area Parkinson's Society in Houston. He was an active participant in Parkinson's Disease studies and education.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Eurvin and Emma Lou Sterling; his first wife of 47 years, Margaret Ann; son, Richard Allen and his brother, Bill.
He is survied by his wife of 14 years, Anita, three daughters, Patti Rimpley, Cindy Watson and Jerri Woodford; ten grandchildren,Erica Rameriz, Breanna Person, Elisabeth Person, Richard Marries, Andrew Molby, Angela Grindele, Megan Robertson, Kylie Sterling, Marshall Sterling and Regan Sterling; six great granddaughers, Alexis, Cierah, Evelyn, Gabriella, Riley and Emilee, and his brother Luke.
