WESLEY C. BRANYAN of Menominee, MI passed away, on his 84th birthday, Thursday July 17, 2014 at the Menominee Care Center. He was born on July 17, 1930 in Battle Creek, MI to the late George and Pauline (Heritz) Branyan. He served his Country in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954. On September 4, 1954, Wes married the former Pauline Yates in Manchester, England. Pauline preceded him in death May 6, 1984. February 14, 1986, Wes married the former Joan Salfai in Hawaii. Wes opened and managed the Tempo Store in Menominee, MI for many years. He would later purchase the Gamble Store in Stephenson, MI and also serve as the Menominee County Assessor. He enjoyed and took great pride in his garden and home. Wes further enjoyed golfing at North Shore Golf Club, wintering in South Padre Island, TX and playing cribbage and pinochle. Wes was a member of the Board of Canvassers, American Legion, Masonic Temple and the Shriners where he was elected and installed as Potentate of Ahmed Temple on January 7, 2000.
Survivors include his wife: Joan of Menominee, MI; 4 children, 2 step children, 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 5 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren; 1 sister: Marilyn Kelley of OH; and brother: Russell Branyan of NM.
