Bobby Joe Craig, 79 of Alum Springs lost his battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on Monday, December 25, 2017. Born October 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Joe and Nettie Whitaker Craig. He was a member of First Apostolic Church in Danville. He had worked as a Bailiff for the Boyle County Courthouse and as a printer for 35 years. He had been a driver on Engine 4 for Junction City, a driver on the Quint for the City of Danville, and a rescue volunteer for Boyle County and Junction City Rescue Squads for 14 years. He loved to play softball, bowl, fish, hunt, garden and play cards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bernie Lynn Craig, by two brothers, George Craig and Earl Craig and by a double-nephew, Stanley Craig. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rita Hubble Craig; by two daughters: Kristie (Chris) West and Bobbie Janean Moore (Ryan Owens); five grandchildren: Chelsie (Eric) Davis, Breeanna (Justin) April, Eric Jarboe, Cameron Moore and Randi Aliegha Hukle and four great grandchildren: Jaydon Davis, Ezra Davis, Stormy April, and Mikayla Moore. Services will be at 11 am, Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Rev. Wayne Naylor with burial in Junction City. Pallbearers are George Craig, Cameron Moore, Chase Jarboe, Chris West, Eric Davis and Justin April. Honorary pallbearers are his best friend, Jim Crouch; Rich Covey, Stan Covey, Marshall Douglas, Marshall Douglas, Jr, Gary Rodgers, Tommy Browning, Pookie Ray and Boyle County Courthouse Employees. Visitation is 6-9 pm, Thursday.
