Lois J. (Barkdoll) Rowe, 83, of Ridge Avenue, Waynesboro, PA passed away the evening of December 24, 2017 in her home. Born May 27, 1934 in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Marie (Bricker) Barkdoll. Mrs. Rowe was a graduate of the Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1954. She and her husband of 63 years, Walter "Glenn" Rowe, Jr. were married June 19, 1954 in the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, Waynesboro. Mrs. Rowe was employed at Regency Printing Company, Waynesboro, and in the flower department at Giant, Chambersburg, PA for over four years. She was a member of the Waynesboro Otterbein Church and the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Rowe enjoyed flowers, crafts, and ceramics. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Rowe loved the Lord and will be truly missed by her family.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three children, Debra J. Rowe and her husband Robert of Waynesboro, Brian E. Rowe and his wife Mary of Cascade, MD, and Dirk A. Rowe and his wife Sherry of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; five sisters, Lucille Barkdoll of Chambersburg, PA, Joyce Henicle of Hagerstown, MD, Nancy Williams of Smithsburg, MD, Constance Cockshaw of Philadelphia, PA, and Lyvone Doyle of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro, PA with the Pastor John C. Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, S. Potomac Street, Waynesboro, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home, Thursday afternoon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bereans Sunday School Class at Otterbein Church; 801 Park Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
