CARNES, Jimmie C. "Neal," 98, went to be with his wife of 72 years, Annie D. Carnes, on December 21, 2017. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Will and G.C. Carnes; and three sisters, Lorene Dawson, Polly Wilson and Thelma Lanyon. He is survived by his son, Jimmie S. Carnes Sr. and wife, Sharon; three grandsons, Jimmie S. Carnes Jr. and wife, Dee, Christopher Neal Carnes and wife, Melaine, Bryt Cory Carnes and wife, Callie; three great-grandsons, Garrett, Austin and Hunter Carnes; and many nieces and nephews. Jimmie was a World War II veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church. Jimmie retired from W.S. Carnes Inc. after 30 years. A gathering of family and friends will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, December 28, at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where a funeral ceremony will follow at 2 p.m. Entombment in Dale Memorial Park.
