Rose (Ballew) Perdue, 92, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2017. She was born in Newport News on October 31, 1925, a daughter of the late James T. and Ethel Belle (Saunders) Ballew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Harvey Perdue, Sr.; a daughter, Janet Perdue; a son, John Perdue, Jr.; grandchildren, Wade Corey Brown and Deborah Michelle Hite; brothers, Buddy, George and Frank Ballew and sister, Myrtle.
She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Nancy Whitlow and Frank, Carol Fuchs and Wayne and Teresa Beard and Sam; two sons and their spouses, James Perdue and Joan of Staunton and Dean Perdue and Anne of Mint Springs; daughter-in-law, Sandy Perdue; sister, Elsie Holt; 13 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
The family will have a private burial at Augusta Memorial Park. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at White Hill Church of the Brethren, 749 Old White Hill Rd, Stuarts Draft, with Pastor Dave Chappell officiating. There will be no public formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rose's memory to the White Hill Church of the Brethren, Building Fund.
