Harold C. Middleton, 73, Kokomo, died at 4:28 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at The Heart Center of Indiana, Indianapolis. He was born Sept. 3, 1933, in Flint, Mich., to the late Clarence Middleton and the late Bessie Wyman Middleton. He married Judy Schwartz on Oct. 18, 1980, in Flint, Mich.

A graduate of Mt. Morris High School in Mt. Morris, Mich., he had attended the University of Michigan (Flint) before transferring to the General Motors Institute, where he was a 1963 graduate. He graduated from Flint Bible Institute in 1974. He also attended the Loyola Institute for ministry and the St. Joseph's College Ecclesial Lay Ministry Program in the Diocese of Lafayette and looked forward to graduating in October 2007.

He was retired from General Motors as a journeyman quality control inspector in the model and proto type department. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he was a reader, catechist, and member of RCIA Team. He was active in Kiwanis Club, Greentown Main Street Association, Greentown Area Business Association, Leadership Kokomo, Lion's Club, and American Institute of Industrial Engineers.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Middleton, Kokomo; daughter, Nancy Dorband and husband Keith, Virginia Beach, Va.; sons, Paul Middleton and wife Paula, Gasgow, Va., Stephen Middleton, Swartz Creek, Mich., Mark Middleton and wife Belinda, Claymont, Del., Andrew Middleton and wife Kathy, Flint, Mich., and Timothy Middleton and wife Wanda, Wichita, Kan.; sisters, Fay Jordan and husband Junior, Zephryhills, Fla., Shelly Shepard and husband Derek, Coleman, Mich.; sister-in-law, Claire Martin and husband Ray, Puebla, Mexico; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mark and Mary Jo Schwartz, Flint, Mich.; grandchildren, Tammy Arnold and husband Robert, Beth Francavilla and husband John, Christen Ritter and husband Douglas, Kevin Middleton and wife Brooke, Whitney Dorband; Justin, Danny, Emily, Kelly, Kyle, Jason, Kristopher, Sarah, Matthew, David, Andy, and A.J. Middleton; great-grandchildren, Amber, Tiffany, Erica, Stephen, Luke and Bob Arnold; and Jess Francavilla; nephews, Gary Chapman and wife Lynn, Jeff Chapman, Aaron and Pete Shepard, and Timothy Martin; and he also leaves beloved dog and ever faithful friend, Clyde. Harold will be missed by countless friends and associates.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Randy Soto officiating. Calling will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster, with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, Mich. Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association.
