Martha Caudill Fields, age 88, of Waynesburg, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation in Stanford. Born Thursday, April 11, 1929 in Letcher County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Mary Witt Caudill. She was the widow of the late Elder Lee Fields, whom she married June 26, 1946 preceded her in death on March 19, 2002. Martha retired in 1995 from American Greetings, in which she had worked since 1969. She was a member of Rose of Sharon Old Regular Baptist Church on Clearfork Road. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, attending church, and spending time with family.
Martha leaves behind one daughter, Evelyn Pentzien (Roger) of Omaha, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, Shelley McGuffey (Scott) of Waynesburg, Darla Colegrove of Berea, April Slone (Jason) of Waynesburg, Sharla Lake (Bryan) of Union, Kentucky, Benita Land (Chris) of Houston, Texas, Brandy Cotton (Greg) of Parrish, Florida, Jonathan Pentzien (Janine) of Singapore, Jay Pentzien of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jeffrey Pentzien of Noblesville, Indiana; ten great grandchildren, Brandon McGuffey (Jessica), Jared Colegrove (Veronica), Ashley Redmon (Brian), Kaytlin Lake, Sydney Slone, Alex Lake, Joshua Cotton, Julia Cotton, Calla Pentzien, Carson Pentzien, and Zac Land; four great-great grandchildren, Brayden McGuffey, Mason McGuffey, Wyatt McGuffey and Khloe McGuffey, one daughter in law, Judy Fields of Richmond; and one son in law, Ronnie Bates of Waynesburg.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Fields and Hiram Fields; one daughter, Bernice Bates; two brothers; and five sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held 12(Noon) Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Murl Caudill and Bro. Ralph Slone Jr. officiating the service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Scott McGuffey, Jared Colegrove, Bryan Lake, Jeffrey Pentzien, Jason Slone, and Greg Cotton will serve as Active Pallbearers. Jonathan Pentzien, Jay Pentzien, Brandon McGuffey, Chris Land, Alex Lake, and Joshua Cotton will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
