402789 Pilot Officer Desmond Curtis enlisted on the 14th of October 1940 at Townsville Queensland. At the time of his death he was posted with the 156 Squadron.
On the night of the 6th/7th September 1943, Lancaster Mark III "Y" Type ED990 took off from Worboys Airfield to carry out a bombing attack on Munich. The aircraft was shot down, and all the crew were killed.
