Regina Sophie Jablonowski Stokes, 94, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

She was born May 16, 1923, in Cleveland, OH, to John and Josephine (Uminski) Jablonowski. She graduated from Western Reserve University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for the Red Cross before joining the Army. During her time in the Army, she worked as a surgical nurse. While serving in the Army, she met William M. Stokes, an Army medic. They married after the war and eventually settled in Crestview, FL. She worked with him in their first business, Stokes Motor Company, and later, Stokes Auto Parts. She was a very loving and devoted mother. She always found time to volunteer in all her children’s school and after-school activities and was very supportive of all their endeavors. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church for most of her adult life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Stokes and her son, Mike Stokes.

She is survived by her daughters, Ellen Stokes (Charles) Lykins and Sandra Stokes (John) Espy and her son, Mark Stokes. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held 11:00am Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Barrancas National Cemetery with Fr. Craig Smith officiating.
