R. J. was born December 6, 1932 in Martindale, Texas, the son of Koehring Addison Crunk and Alice DeGraffenried Crunk. He married Ruth Crum in February of 1955, and she preceded him in death in October of 2004.
He served in the United States Army and worked for the MKT/ Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years. R. J. was also an antique dealer and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Felix Robertson Camp 129.
R. J. is also preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Kenneth Hightower.
He is survived by his daughter, Alice Glendora Batey; Grandson, Christopher R. Batey; twin granddaughters, Alice Ruth Batey and Jennifer Nicole Batey; various nieces and nephews.
