Ila Palmer Butler, 93, passed away February 12, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born March 5, 1913 in Taylor, Arizona to Arthur Palmer and Evaline Gibbons Palmer. She lived and went through school in Taylor until her first marriage in 1933 to Eldren Farr. She was widowed a year later and moved back to Northern Arizona where she lived in Holbrook, Winslow and Flagstaff over the years. She later married Gerald Olmstead who also preceded her in death. She married Lon Lloyd Butler in Flagstaff in 1959 and lived there for several years. When they both retired, they moved to Mesa where they lived for many years. The two of them went on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to Alabama and then worked for several years in the Mesa Temple. Lon died in 1997. Besides her three husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Arthalyn, son-in-law, Ralph “Buzz” Lee, her parents, and brothers, Roy, Dean, Harvey, Duffy, Belton, Val and Lorin Palmer. She is survived by her daughter Eldrena Lee and son, Donald LeRoy Olmstead (Arlene) both of Mesa, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brothers, Gus Palmer of Flagstaff, Van Palmer of Holbrook, and her sister Ima Rose of Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10 a.m. February 17, 2007 at the LDS church at 977 E. Broadway in Mesa. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be at Green Acres in Scottsdale, AZ.
