Willard McNeil Cox, age 88 of Searcy, Arkansas, formerly of Florence, Alabama, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 in Searcy.

He was born August 10, 1929 in Florence to Willard Chester Cox and Lillian Thigpen Cox. He was a minister for churches of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Yvonne Cox of Searcy; four sons, Ronald Cox and wife Beth of Sylva, North Carolina, Donald Cox and wife Elba of West Linn, Oregon, Gerald Cox and wife Marcy of Searcy, Curtis Cox and wife Jeanie of Big Cabin, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sharon Smith and husband Webster of Newark, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, Jesse, Samuel, Alethea, Andrew, Sophia, Evan, Eric, Carissa, KaCee, Nona; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Mary Gray Cox; two brothers, Charles Cox, Cecil Cox; and one sister, Frances Simpson.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00pm at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 2:00pm at Powell Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Park in Florence, Alabama.
