ANGELO CALABRESE BIRTH RECORD
Number 2
Calabrese Angiolo
(Proiect) [Project: foundling, orphan, abandoned infant]
The year one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five twenty-four May, at nine-and-forty-minute hours in the municipal house. Next to me, Leone Landolfi, city councilor delegated by the Mayor with a deed of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two duly approved of the Civil Status of the Commune of Castelfranci, Storti Salvadore appeared twenty-three years old, a peasant profession domiciled in Castelfranci, who gave me a child of sex male of the apparent age of thirteen days [covered in] rags and told me, that yesterday at two and thirty minutes afternoon hours, in front of his house of dwelling, placed at Strada Circondario, he found this child, where were the rags above said, lying supine with both hands enclosed within the jaws. At the said child I imposed the name of Angiolo, and the surname of Calabrese. The declarant then having made an application to leave him the child promising to ensure breastfeeding and custody, as well as to account for any request from the Authority and finding nothing in reverse, I have joined, and I left the child to the same declarant.
This witness was present as witnesses, Antonio Bocchino, of the seventies, peasant, and Angelo Maria Volpe, of the thirties, bracelet, both residing in this Municipality. Having read the present document to all the participants, they did not sign it, having said they did not know how to write.
