Carol A. Burns
Locke - 67, of Rt 38, Locke, New York died December 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family, at the Matthew House after an extended illness.
Born December 29, 1949 in Harford, NY, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Jennie Carpenter Overbaugh.
She had been employed by NCR followed by employment with Pall Trinity retiring in 2013.
Carol love to camp and fish and was an avid gardener.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James Burns Jr, at home, her children, Carolyn (Dale) Sullivan of Ithaca, Philip (JoAnn) Stockton, John (Karen) Burns both of Cortland, James (Nicole) Burns III of Danbury CT, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She is also survived by her siblings, Alan (Kelly) Overbaugh of Groton, Ronald (Grace) Overbaugh of Cortland, Luanne (Brian Flynn) Leger and Janice (Larry) Stewart both of Harford. Many nieces and nephews and a special surrogate sister, Audrey Rider survive her as well.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Connie Sheldon, Harold Overbaugh and David W. Overbaugh.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams Street, Groton. Spring burial will be in the Groton Rural Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
