Billie Fae Cade Anderson, 96, of Nacogdoches, passed away on December 21, 2017, in Nacogdoches. She was born on March 14, 1921, the daughter of George Elton and Bennie (Jones) Cade. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Rikard officiating. Interment will follow at Blackjack Cemetery in Nacogdoches County. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday. Mrs. Billie grew up during the era when parents taught the value of a dollar and the sense of responsibility of working. She loved her family endlessly and always made sure they had what they needed. Billie lived a long and honorable life, and looked forward to meeting her Lord and Savior. She last worked for Sears and Roebuck where she retired after 20 years of service. She also spent some time working at the S&H Green Stamp Store. Her favorite times were spent with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joys, and as is typical with grandparents, her grandchildren got away with most anything when they were with her. She doted on them, especially during Christmas time and birthdays. Billie was best known for her homemade cornbread dressing and the gingerbread she made. She loved her church and church family at Northside Baptist Church in Texas City, as well as her longtime church family at Calvary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches. During baseball season, she was most often found watching her beloved Astros, and what a treat it was for her to know of them winning the World Series this year! Mrs. Billie was a longtime member of The Eastern Star and served on many bowling teams, which was her favorite past time over the years. Billie is survived by her son, Ben Anderson of Houston; grandchildren, Harley Joe Anderson and wife, Karen of Hendersonville, TN and great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Riley, and Wesley; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin Cooper Anderson; son and daughter-in-law Joe Lynn and Nelwyn Anderson; brother, George E. Cade, Jr.; and sister, Novice Blankenship. Pallbearers will be Ralph Sanders, Bob Dunn, and Winston Blankenship.
