Ronald "Ron" Otho McGuire, 70, died Thursday, December 21, 2017.

Mr. McQuire was born February 9, 1947, in Rock Hill, SC, a son of the late Walter McQuire and the late Louise Boatwright McGuire.

In his youth he was a Presbyterian; later he became a Baptist faith.
Ron was a worker. Early, he had a paper route and worked on a turkey farm. Later, he worked at Celanese in Rock Hill. He was an accountant for Duke Power company in Charlotte until 1980, after which he was the owner and operator of McGuire’s Accounting & Tax Service.

In 1975, he earned a Bachelors in Science Degree in Business Administration at the University of South Carolina.

He served in the United States Navy for seven years and was a Vietnam veteran.

He was survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Bowers McGuire; a son, Darin (Scarlet) McQuire; two aunts, Sally Mull and Kat Pressley; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a son from a previous marriage, Ronnie McQuier, and Ronnie's children, Destiney and Dillian.

Ron was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Olin McGuire; a sister-n-law and a brother-n-law.

Funeral services were Thursday, December 28, 2017, in Hyde Park Baptist Church. The Rev. Charlie Simpson, the Rev. Bill Parker, and the Rev. Eddie Burris officiated. Burial followed in Lancaster Memorial Park.
