Debra Krueger McPherson, age 64, formally of Merrill, Wisconsin and now residing in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday December 21, 2017 under the care of Care Partners Assisted Living of Manitowoc and the Asera Care Hospice program. She was born November 6th 1953 in Medford Wisconsin. She was married to Alfred McPherson of Stuttgart Arkansas who preceded her in death on August 24th, 2016. Debra was a graduate of Merrill High School in 1972 and went on to college to receive her B.A. Degree in education at Concordia University in St. Paul Minnesota. She was a Lutheran school teacher for 33 years. She taught in Belle Glade Florida, Aurora Indiana, and her last 26 years at St. Johns Lutheran School in Stuttgart Arkansas. Due to health problems, she retired 5/31/2013. Debra was an active member of St. John's Lutheran church in Stuttgart by participating in several bible studies and being a member of the adult choir. Of course her most important contribution to the church was serving as their 1st grade teacher. Her colleague described her as a dedicated teacher.

Debbie had many other interests. She loved watching NASCAR on television, doing Cross-Stitch, taking computer classes, reading, and she loved cats. She was especially happy to be able to take a trip to the holy land, which of course included visits to Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

Survivors include a brother, Larry (Barb) Krueger, Manitowoc Wisconsin, a sister-in-law, LaVila Krueger, Merrill, an Uncle, Myron (Lou) Krueger, Tomahawk, and an Aunt, Betty Krueger, Florida, and numerous nephews and nieces. A special thanks to Debra Verbist, niece, for her much needed help in bringing Debbie back home to Wisconsin. A special thanks also to Uncle Myron and Aunt Lou for making arrangements for the cemetery lot. She is also survived by the many friends and co-workers from Stuttgart Arkansas with a special thanks to Pastor White of St John's Lutheran church in Stuttgart for his care both as a Pastor and a friend in some of Debbie's toughest trials. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Betty Krueger, her brothers, Gerald, Mayward, and Eugene Krueger and her husband Alfred.

Services for Debra will be held Tuesday, December 26th, 2017 at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 am until the time of service, at the church. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Deja & Martin, Two Rivers and Waid Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
