Shirley Ann Cooper, of Deer, died on December 21, 2017 at the Newton County Nursing Home. She was 77 years old.

Visitation is at 12 Noon followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. both on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Deer Baptist Church. Pastor Bill Counts will officiate.

Burial will be in the Deer Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The daughter of Ira and Ruby (Adams) Spradley was born on April 26, 1940 at Limestone, AR.

Shirley graduated from Deer High School in 1958. She was a member of the Deer Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and preparing holiday meals, quilting, and sewing. Shirley was also a member of the Deer Widow’s Club.

Her husband, Connley Cooper; and her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include four brothers and their wives, Larry and Sharon Spradley, Jerry and Diana Spradley, Garry Spradley, and Lynn and Carol Spradley; one aunt and uncle, Freda and Carl Giles; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
