Edna Marie Strocchio was born on January 26, 1923, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Anthony and Edna Lecesne. Edna was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She moved out west with the family to the San Francisco Bay area. She met her husband Val in Sequoia National Park. They were married for 58 years until his passing. Edna created a wonderful home life for her family in Los Alamitos, California for many years. She worked as a nurse in Seal Beach, CA. She later made homes in Las Vegas and most recently Reno. Edna was also known as "Flo". She was very family and friend oriented and put the needs of others first. She enjoyed socializing, travel, music, garage sales, watching her favorite soap opera and game shows on television, and waging a nickel in the poker machines. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Snows. On February 10, 2016, while in the presence of family at the Renown Hospital in Reno, she was escorted up to Heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Edna touched the lives of many and her compassion, generosity and smile will be missed by all who knew her. Edna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Neil and Virlene, daughter and son-in-law Valerie and Steve Selander, daughter Laurie McKee, son and daughter-in-law Dean and Patti; grandchildren Valerie Lafinier, Matt Simmons, Michael McKee; great grandchildren Jay, Hailey and Ashley. She has numerous nieces and nephews.
