Sarah E. “Sally” (O’Dell) Hamilton, age 90 of Huber Heights, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Sally had worked many years ago at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dayton as a nurse. She was in charge of the food pantry in Huber Heights for over 26 years and was also a reading and writing tutor at Kitty Hawk Elementary for many years. Sally was a member of Grace Community Church in Huber Heights where she served as the secretary for the Awanas group. She volunteered for many years at Dayton Children’s Hospital and enjoyed reading, bowling and word search puzzles. She is survived by her husband of 63 years: Dale Hamilton, daughter: Susan (Randy) Banner of Dayton, son: David (Wauneti) Hamilton of Dayton, sister: Mary Starr of FL, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ralph and Ellen O’Dell. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Grace Community Church (5001 Fishburg Rd., Huber Heights) with Pastor Bob Foote officiating. Inurnment will be at the Dayton National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
