Donald "Don" Dean Ewing, age 77, died at home surrounded by family on December 20, 2017. He was born in Rawson, Ohio on December 9th, 1940 to the late Anna Jane and Gorby Ewing. He graduated from Findlay High School in 1958. He lived in Findlay and retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. in 2002 after 43 years. Don was a member of the Moose, serving as a past Governor and the Sons of Amvets, where he was an officer. He was a devoted, longstanding supporter of the Indians, Browns, and Findlay Oilers. Don enjoyed bowling, golfing, and fishing with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Donna M. Ewing; his daughters: Donna R. (Bob) Magley of Angola, IN, and Debra L. (Blake) Gilley of Lexington, KY. He was a proud grandfather of 6 grandkids: Truman J. Magley of Lake City, FL, Jorja E. (Clay) McFadden of Louisville, KY, Carlena M. (Glenn) Crawford of Waterloo, IN, Rachael A. (Zach) Jones, Dylan M. Gilley, and Sarah I. Gilley all of Lexington, KY. Don was particularly fond of his first great-granddaughter: Zoie J. Jones. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Donald Tufts of Fostoria Don was preceded in death by a sister: Karen Tufts. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay with David To officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-6:00pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Bridge Hospice for their care and support. Memorial contributions may be given to Bridge Home Health and Hospice and the University of Findlay Men's Basketball Program attn: Jim Givens in his loving memory.
