Bruce Foster

Visalia - Visalia native, Bruce Foster passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017. He was born in 1946 and spent most of his life in Visalia.

Bruce was a graduate of Redwood High School, class of 1964. He and his life-long love, Shirlene Stout, married in 1966. A few years later they started their family having a daughter, Kristi and son, Tim.

He began his long career in accounting while working for Bostitch starting in 1969 which led his family on a brief adventure living in Connecticut. Over his 35 year career, he pursued other opportunities back here in the central valley with companies in Visalia and Tulare. Bruce was always loyal, hard-working, and well-liked by his coworkers.

Those who knew Bruce will miss his love of laughter and quick smile. He has lots of old friends, a large family, and countless people he'd chat with wherever he was.

Ever since his high-school years working at a service station, he enjoyed cars, especially unique, classic, or custom cars. He owned a wide variety of cars over the years, and always enjoyed driving them around town with a cigar in hand garnering all sorts of attention. Once retired, walking and visiting folks along the streets of downtown Visalia was something that was fun for him too.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirlene and their daughter Kristi Pritchett, her husband, David and son, Jacob; son Tim, his wife, Norma and their two daughters Maiya and Alyssa; his sister, Judy Reed and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents Beryl (Blondie) and Bobbie Foster.
