Gaeton J. "Guy" Pelosi of West Scranton died Wednesday at Allied Skilled Nursing Center after an illness.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Mazzarella Pelosi. A graduate of West Scranton High School class of 1944, he proudly served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Laffy, the ship had the distinction of being named the "ship that would not die."

Before his retirement, he was a sheetmetal worker employed by the Robert Harrington Sheet Metal Co.

Guy was an avid golfer and enjoyed walking very much.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Allied Skilled Nursing for the wonderful care.

Surviving are a brother, Nicholas; and two sisters, Ann Dillon and Theresa Bocker, all of Scranton; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and two great-great-nieces.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Leonard Pelosi.

The funeral will be Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
