Edwin W. Blackwell, of Hendersonville, TN was welcomed into the loving arms of the Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Ed was born August 6, 1934 in Chattanooga, TN, son of the late Lonnie and Margaret (Clevenger) Blackwell. Ed proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War before going on to graduate from Lipscomb University. Ed was a fun loving man who loved to tell bad jokes and proudly introduced himself as Ed with the bald head. He built a career as an insurance agent and established true relationships with his clients, traveling from Memphis to Mountain City making friends all along the way. Ed was a stubborn man at times who loved a good debate; but once you met Ed, he was a man youd never forget. On October 25, 1957 Ed was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Joyce (Pinckley) Blackwell, who survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Marie (Patrick) Dandurand and Alan (Ninette) Blackwell; grandchildren, Katie Mann, Kyle Mann, Brianna (Ryker) Swint, and Bryce Blackwell; great-grandson, Timothy Mann; sister, Jane Rowlett. Interment will be at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
