Morrie Hunt was one of six children to Rowlan Brown Hunt & Edith Lena Foreman and grew up on a farm in Mikimiki Road. He attended Mikimiki School, loved rabbit shooting and playing the violin.
Morrie died when his Lancaster bomber was shot down over Germany. A commemorative seat was created at the Mt Bruce Hall for Morrie and was dedicated in 2014 at a special ceremony to mark his brief life.
