Onah Hope Astin was born on November 17, 1879 in Texas to Green Baylor Astin (ID 34350508) and Lizzie Robinson Astin (ID 34350484). Onah was from a family of seven children. Her siblings were Winnie, Mary, Valeria, James, Arch, and Zelma.
The Astin family moved to Nolan County Texas in 1884. They moved to Buffalo Gap in 1900. Onah is listed as living at home with her mother and father at age 20 in the 1900 Census taken on June 18th. She would marry a few months later.
Onah's father Green Astin was originally from the southern part of Marion County Alabama. After Onah married and left home, the Astin family moved to Stamford in 1903. The Astin ranch home was 2-1/2 miles northwest of Stamford. Onah's mother Lizzie died within a year after the move to their ranch home leaving her father Green a widower for the remaining 40 years of his life.
On September 4th 1900, Onah married Clarence J. Pearre. Onah had four children: Mary, Laura, Charles, and Clarence Jr. Onah's husband Clarence J Pearre Sr died in 1934. They were divorced at the time of his death. In 1935, the following year, Clarence J Pearre, Jr. passed away.
Onah Hope Astin Pearre passed away on October 26, 1948. She lived in Weslaco Texas at the time of her death.
