Clyde Edward May Sr., 89, of Prince George, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, in Southside Regional Medical Center.

Mr. May was the son of John C. and Dorothy Sheesly May.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lilly Montgomery May; daughter, Brenda May Gordon; a son-in-law, Gilbert E. Hanzlik Sr.; four sisters-in-law; and six brothers-in-law.

Mr. May was a retired building inspector for Prince George County, and member of the V.F.W. and Prince George Masonic Lodge #115.

Survivors include his daughter, Anne M. Hanzlik; son, Clyde Edward (Diane) May Jr.; grandchildren, retired Lt. Col. Gilbert E. (Stephanie) Hanzlik Jr., Michael T. (Karen) Hanzlik, Beverly G. (Steve) Honaker, Christopher H. (Tamara) Gordon; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, John C. May Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. Funeral service and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Super Kids Ministry, P.O. Box 637, Hopewell, VA 23860.
