FORT WORTH - Blanche Jordan, 93, passed away Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, with her beloved daughter by her side.
Ida Blanche Luttrall was born July 22, 1924, in Aspermont, Texas. She was the second of five children born to Mark and Minnie Luttrall. Growing up, she attended school in Stonewall County. On Aug. 4, 1944, she married the love of her life, George Ellis Jordan, in Dallas. Following their dreams, they lived in several places across the west coast and southwest while starting their family. In the 1950's, while living in Salt Lake City, Utah, Blanche was active in the Association for the Blind. After many years of residing in Colorado, they moved back to Saginaw, Texas, to enjoy their retirement years. She and George were married for 64 and a half years, though not nearly long enough in her estimation. She loved her family more than anything and felt very blessed to have been so active in her grandchildren's lives. Though she may not have had her sight, she was fierce. Not one to back down, she would tackle Hell with a bucket of water if she thought it would benefit her family. She taught us all to never give up, no matter what, so in true Blanche fashion, she fought until the very end.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; a brother; and her beloved George.
Survivors: Son, Lee (Roberta) Jordan; daughter, Janet Gray; grandchildren, Carol (Jimmy) Bruce, Natalie (Justin) Howe and Michael (Erica) Jordan; great-grandsons, Joshua and Patrick Blake; and great-great-grandchildren, Kameron, Abby, Jasper and Peyton; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Community Link Mission of Saginaw, Texas or the American Council of the Blind of Texas.
