WATAUGA--God's Amazing Grace took Dale Leroy Woods of Watauga, Texas, home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017. He was 76 years old. FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, with visitation at 1 p.m., at Azleland Memorial Park and Cemetery, 850 N Cardinal Road, Azle, Texas, 76020. For those wishing to contribute, please notify David Woods at [email protected]. Mr. Woods was born June 9, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the son of the late Frank McDonald Woods and Letha Fern Armstrong Woods. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School and married his high school sweetheart, Diana Marie Myers of Des Moines, Iowa, on Sept. 25, 1959. Also preceding him in death were his brother, Paul Lewis Woods; two sisters, Betty Benson and Joy Saltzman; great-great-grandson, Jasper Warren Lowry; and nephew, Philip Paul Woods. He will be remembered most by his genuine hugs. Dale was known as a believer in Christ and very proudly admitted it. Seldom without a smile, he enjoyed having his picture taken. He loved to read his Bible, play the guitar or piano and sing gospel songs. SURVIVORS: His wife of 58 years, Diana Woods; son, Mark Woods of North Richland Hills, Texas; son, David Woods and wife, Natalie, of Northlake, Texas; son, Bill Woods of Azle, Texas; daughter, Annette Woods of River Oaks, Texas; son, Jesse Woods and wife, Tammy, of Pink, Okla.; brothers, David Woods and wife, Jean, of Lakeland, Fla., Timothy Woods and wife, Mary Lee, of Des Moines, Iowa; and sister, Frances Vanderpool and husband, Lowell, of Lake Wales, Fla. Other survivors include 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
