Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy and a retired Statistician with the Census Bureau for 38 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Arlet; daughters #1/ Krysti McGee (Bill) and #3/ Julie Fowler (Chuck) and sons #2/ Jeff Aanestad (Mary Anne) and #4/ Kevin Aanestad (Julie); 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as his brother, Larry Jo "Jody" Aanestad (Linda), of St. Paul, MN.
The Aanestad family would be heartened to have friends and family share a Celebration of his Life together on Friday, December 22 at the Maryland Veterans Museum at Patriot Park in Newburg, MD, from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 23rd at Peace Lutheran Church in Waldorf, MD, at 1 p.m. Interment Tuesday, December 26, 10:30 a.m. at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery with Navy honors.
