Bruce moved to Citrus County in 1978 and attended Our Lady of Fatima Parish. While residing in Citrus County, Bruce worked as a Hearing Aid Specialist and was passionate about helping people with hearing disabilities, especially the elderly. Bruce was an avid reader who also enjoyed classic movies. He was known by his family and friends as a vibrant story teller who always wanted to make you laugh, while providing his life lessons. Bruce enjoyed travelling and seeing the world with his wife Marie. He also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially his famed chocolate mousse. He loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Marie F. (Chiarello) Foster; his children, Holly Foster of Inverness, FL, Keith Foster and wife Kali of Ocala, FL, and Ryan Foster and wife Kelly of Newberry, FL; brother Jeffrey Foster and wife Theresa of Staten Island, NY; and his 3 grandchildren: Sydney, Sophie and Wrigley. He was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Foster and his wife, Catherine.
Bruce's family will receive friends in visitation at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 5 PM until 7 PM. A Celebration of Bruce's Life will begin at 7 PM with Rev. Dr. Doug Alexander officiating. Committal services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at 11 AM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. The procession to the cemetery will leave the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory at 10 AM.
Bruce's family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Fisher House in Gainesville, FL, located adjacent to the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center. The Fisher House provides temporary lodging, meals, and support for the families of veterans who are inpatients receiving critical health care.
