DECATUR — Graveside service for Gwendolyn J. Black, 86, of Decatur will be Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Burningtree Cemetery with Rev. Bonnie Sims officiating and Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Black died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017. She was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Birmingham to William Jones and Frances Lockett Jones.

Survivors include her husband, R.B. Black Sr.; two sons, R.B. Black Jr. and Steven Black and his wife, Debbie, both of Decatur; sister, Sarah Elizabeth Key of Auburn; grandchildren, Lindsay Farrier and her husband, Micah, Jessie and Pamela Dodgen and Cindie Dodgen; and great-grandchildren, Heather, Tyler, Brodie and Gracie.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of North Alabama.
