Newark - Matthew Robert Taylor, age 25, of Newark, DE, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 17, 2017. Matthew attended St. Matthew's Grade school and graduated from St. Mark's High School in 2010. He graduated with a degree in exercise science and nursing from the Univ. of Delaware where he was a member of the Sigma NU fraternity. Matthew had an infectious smile and great personality. He cherished his family and loved all his friends. Matthew excelled at his job as an RN at Christiana Hospital. He enjoyed going to Dewey Beach and Disney, cheering for the Eagles, and playing/watching soccer. "They say the brightest flames burn the quickest."

Matthew is survived by his parents, Barry and Jeanette Taylor; and sister, Jennifer Holding (Daniel).

A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 6-9 PM and again on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 9-11 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 345 Bear-Christiana Rd., Bear, DE 19701 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
