Birger A. Amundson, 74, Oshkosh, was pronounced dead on arrival at Mercy Medical Center Saturday.
He was born Feb. 3, 1906, in Norway, the son of Alfred and Olivia Erickson Amundson. He married Pearl Kloehn, March 10, 1978, in Oshkosh. Mr. Amundson farmed for most of his life and then worked at the Pepsi-Cola Co. until his retirement.
Surviving are his widow; seven daughters, Mrs. Ray (Janett) Gose and Mrs. William (Donna) Hayes, both of Oshkosh, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Lee, Poygan, Mrs. David (Delores) Domke, Omro, Mrs. Rodney (Sharon) Schmidt and Mrs. Joseph (June) Dobrynski, both of Winneconne, and Mrs. Raymond (Marlene) Decker, California; five stepdaughters, Dorothy Starch, Ripon, and Mrs. Donald (Mary) Norman, Mrs. Eugene (Shirley) Blao, Barbara Kloehn and Beverly Kloehn, all of Oshkosh; four sons, Kenneth, Omro, Richard, Butte des Morts, Lavern, Oshkosh, and Donald, Winneconne; one stepson, David Kloehn, Oshkosh; three brothers, Hank, Howard and Ralph Amundson, all of Frederic, Wis.; three sisters, Ruth Larson, Minnesota, Esther Jenson, Arizona, and Gardis Klebbs, Nebraska; 61 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Konrad Funeral Home, the Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
