Rose M. Lyons, age 102, of Elkhorn, WI, formerly of Walworth, WI, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn. She was born Dec. 5, 1910, in Humphrey, NE, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kukla) Sturek. She married Maurice A. Lyons on May 17, 1932, in Scotia, NE. He preceded her May 9, 1982. Rose was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Fontana, WI, the Fontana Garden Club and the Walworth Women's Club.Rose is survived by two children, Larry (Andrea) of Santa Rosa, CA, and Joan (Roger) Wichman of Delavan, WI; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor Reick of Vancouver, WA.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at ST BENEDICT CATHOLIC CHURCH in Fontana, WI, with Father Daniel Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Williams Bay, WI.

Rose was one of seventeen children born to her parents. Her siblings: Anna H Sturek, Thomas George Sturek, Joseph Edward Sturek, Mary Catherine Coe, Frances M Achteberg, Henry Sturek, Stephen Sturek (only one to die as a child), Helen Rose Rosso, Clara Louise Lindgren, Kathryn A Bishop, Josephine Margaret Mercier, Julia M Berney, Eleanor Mary Rieck, Loretta Mae Reinking, George Edwin Sturek and John Sturek.
