Joseph William Pack, born October 11, 1942, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to virtually everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Angie Pack; brother Leslie Pack; and sister, Alicia Pack Black. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years, Anna Mae; daughter, Kimberly (Matt) Winston of Blacksburg; son, Eric (Terwringia Hendricks) Pack; of Radford; and daughter, Linda Pack (Athens, GA); grandchildren Chloe and Marcus Winston (Blacksburg); Malika and Lindsey Pack (Athens, GA), and Makenzie Pack (Radford); along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, which include very special family friends Anthony and Ryan Barnes.

Joe proudly served in the United States Army and retired as a security guard from Radford Arsenal. He was a member of the Riner Ruritan Club, and also the Riner Fire Department for over 45 years. Joe loved horses and tractor pulls, where he won multiple awards participating in various shows and contests over the years. He also loved the outdoors and could be seen mowing his lawn several times a week.

His family wants to thank the staff of the CCU at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center for their extraordinary care and services during the brief time Joe spent there.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Horne Funeral Home, 1300 N. Franklin Street, Christiansburg, with visitation on Wednesday, December 20 from 5:00-8:00 pm and funeral services at 11 am on Thursday, December 21 with the Rev. Betsy King and Pastor Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Repast will be provided immediately following at the Riner Fire Department.
