Troy W. "Red" Watson September 21, 1934- July 5, 2006 COLUMBUS, GA—
Troy W. "Red" Watson, 71, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Doctor's Hospital after an extended illness. Red was born in Madisonville, TN. on September 21, 1934 to Robert and Ida Croft Watson. He lived in Madisonville, TN. until he married Betty Jo Raper February 26, 1955. They lived in Nashville, Birmingham and Selma. They made their home in Columbus in 1956. After studying at Columbus Tech, he worked as a brick mason for 38 years before retiring from his masonry business in 1995. Red was a family man and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Shirley Watson, Rosa Bell Ferguson, Goldie Morgan and Mirilla Mae "Sis" Rogers, and one brother, Leroy Watson. He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Betty Watson; two daughters and sons in law, Linda and Richard Morrison, Acworth, GA. and Connie and James Richman, Ozark, AL.; two sons and daughters in law, Michael and Christine Watson, Lithia Springs, GA. and Matthew and Dawn Watson, Columbus, GA.; six brothers, Robert "RP" Watson and wife Reathal, Joseph "Jay" and wife Maudie, David and wife Faye, Jerry Dan and wife Yvaughn, all of Madisonville, TN., Floyd "Boob" Watson, Englewood, TN., and Albert Watson and wife Dolly, Chattanooga, TN.; three sisters, Beaulah Sneed, Chattanooga, TN., Bobbie Watson, Knoxville, TN., Edna Watson and husband Pleas, Madisonville, TN.; twelve grandchildren, Michele and Christopher Morrison, Acworth, GA., James Richman, III., Independence, MO., Brian Richman and wife Michele, Centerton, AR., Larry Richman and wife Nancy, Olathe, KS., Kelsey Richman, Ozark, AL., Zachary Watson, Phenix City, Kayla Watson, Macon, GA., Chelsea Bishop and Bradley Watson, Lithia Springs, GA., Hunter and Peyton Watson, Columbus, GA.; four great grandchildren, Seth, Addison, Ashtyn and Colin Richman. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2006 in Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Rd., Columbus, GA.
