Robert W. Adamson, 92, of Waynesburg, died Friday, December 15, 2017, in Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born August 30, 1925, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Alva W. and Martha L. Goslin Adamson.
Mr. Adamson served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a coal miner who retired after 37 years from Bethlehem Steel's Marianna Mine 58.
Mr. Adamson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Jefferson American Legion Post 954.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates play, but, most of all, he loved and enjoyed his family.
On November 12, 1948, he married Lesetta Hughes, with whom he shared 69 years of wonderful marriage.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Sandra (John) Gatten and Daniel (Tina) Adamson, both of Waynesburg, and Debra Ferea of Richeyville; six grandchildren, Stacey Havrilesko, Jeremy Gatten, Chris Gatten, Melanie McClain, Daniel Adamson Jr. and Joey Bogumit; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, James (Lawana) Adamson and Duane Adamson, both of Waynesburg, John (Linda) Adamson of Ocala, Fla., and Benjamin (Judy) Adamson of Ravena, Ohio; and two sisters, Elizabeth Lemley of Waynesburg and Betty Van Druff of Mt. Morris.
Deceased are a great-grandson, Noah Havrilesko, and three brothers, Charles Adamson, George Adamson and Joseph W. Adamson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, with the Rev. Nick Bardo officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, with military rites accorded by American Legion Post 954, Jefferson.
