Rose C. Leone Wiggins, age 89, of Crystal Lake formerly of the Dundee area passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of hospice on Thursday, December 14, 2017.
Rose was born on March 14, 1928 in Allegheny County, PA. and was the daughter of the late Michel & Marianna Palazzo. On November 27, 1969 she married Robert Wiggins, Sr. Bob preceded Rose in death on January 16, 1990 after 20 years of marriage. In earlier years, Rose worked as a Waitress at the Milk Pail Restaurant in East Dundee, and then at White Cross Bakery in West Dundee. Prior to fully retiring, she worked at the General Store in Crystal Lake.
Survivors include her children, Loretta (Dennis) O'Malley, Gene (Debra) Leone, and Barbara Smith. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Douglas Cameron, Kristin (Brett) Johnson, Antoinette (Kevin Henige) Leone, Donald (Jennifer) O'Malley, Sean Smith and Shelby( Gary ) Singleton; and her 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Robert Wiggins Sr., Rose was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher O'Malley in 2014; and her six siblings.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, masses would be appreciated or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
