Jon Jeremy Dana Mitchell was born on June 27, 1977 at the Talihina Indian Hospital in Talihina, Oklahoma. Jeremy, as he was known by his family, attended Central Mid High in Norman, OK. He was in the Army National Guard. He was also a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church of Haileyville, OK. He was a popular guy in school, had lots of friends and was well known in the Norman community. He was very friendly and loved everyone he met. He was a very intelligent and bright young man. His family states that he is the only one they knew that could just go in and take the GED test and pass with the highest score in the state after buying the study guide and not studying. He told his brother, before he passed, that he gave his life to God. God must have known his struggles and decided it was time to bring him home. He left us on December 12, 2017 in Norman. Jeremy is preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Jack Dollins (Pa); great grandparents, Buddy and Mary Miller and Lone and Violet Dollins; paternal grandparents, Tony and Cilla Mitchell, Chebon and Lydia Mitchell, and Johnny and Rosie Harjo; a niece, Taylor Linn; a nephew, Brayden Linn; paternal uncles, Joel Duane, Quinton, Jayde "Jo Buck", Jason Jace, Abner, and Anthony "Punkin" Mitchell; and by several aunts and uncles. A Wake service for Jeremy will be held at 7:00pm Thursday evening at Haileyville Community of Christ Church, 300 Elliott Street in Haileyville. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Haileyville Community of Christ Church with Charles Ray Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Old Wilberton Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
