"BIO" adapted from his obituary published online by the Coleman Mortuary of Hoquiam:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Phillip Henry Reed, age 45, a longtime resident of Taholah, Washington went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2015.
"Phillip was born on September 19, 1969, in Aberdeen to Terry and Arlene DeLaCruz Reed.
"Phillip attended schools in Taholah and North Beach, graduated from Fort Simcoe Job Corp in White Swan and received a Certification of Cement Masonry, he also attended Bates Technical Institute.
"He worked for the Quinault Housing Authority, the Quinault Indian Nation as a fire fighter and tree planter, and also worked in construction. He also was a crabber and enjoyed clam digging.
"Phillip loved spending time with family and friends, and loved to go on hunting and fishing with the boys. Phillip had a passion for collecting antiques, and had a natural ability to spot old things that had value, and he would hit all the local Good Will’s finding treasurers.
"Phillip would make his rounds to visit his granddaughter, nieces and nephews; so much that it would become his daily routine. Phillip’s favorite past time was attending all of the family dinners of the holidays and birthdays.
"Phillip enjoyed attending cultural events, such as Pow-wow’s and participated in the Canoe Journeys. He especially loved the outdoors and picking huckleberries with his mother, Arlene.
"He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, how he loved joking with everyone, and most of all was a man with a heart of gold.
"Surviving relatives include his children, Phillip Williams of Chehalis, Janell Lewis of Taholah, Haven Reed of Olympia, and Hope Imus of Chehalis; his loving granddaughter, Mahalah Wagner; and siblings, Julie Reed-Frank of Nespelum, Fawn Sharp Malvini of Lake Quinault, Donald Waugh and Roderick Reed of Taholah; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
"Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Roderick Terry Reed; his mother, Arlene DeLaCruz, his brother, Darrin Reed, and his nephew, Jason Waugh."
