Rev. Phillip T. Wood went to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 11th. He was born June 20, 1957 in Memphis to Thomas Leroy Wood, Jr. and Ann Forbes White Wood. He was a native of Memphis and had resided in Tupelo for the past 42 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Guard, serving for six years. Phil served in ministry for 34 years and was the pastor of Emmanuel Assembly of God in Nettleton for 21 years. He enjoyed target shooting, fishing, reading his bible and studying the end times, crossword puzzles, watching old westerns and being with his family.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14th at Emmanuel Assembly of God in Nettleton with Bro. Terence Sutterfield and Brian Wood officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery in Saltillo.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sheran Wood of Tupelo; his father, Thomas Leroy Wood, Jr. of Saulsbury, Tennessee, a daughter, Tanya Sutterfield (Terence) of Tupelo; a son, Brian Wood (Martha Lane) of Nettleton; two sisters, Cindy Woodruff (Denny) of Sanford, North Carolina and Michelle Harris (Donnie) of Middleton, Tennessee; a brother-in-law, John Presley (Ronnie) of Tupelo; father-in-law, Truman Presley (Doris) of Nettleton; step father-in-law, Justin McBrayer of Saltillo; four grandchiuldren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Wood; his mother-in-law, Sylvia McBrayer.

Pallbearers are Truman Presley, Justin McBrayer, John Presley, Denny Woodruff, Donnie Harris and Nathan Woodruff. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Emmanual Assembly of God.
