Lorraine K. Davis, 87, of Macclenny died on Sunday, November 19, 2017, following an extended illness. Mrs. Davis was born in Glen St. Mary on November 12, 1930 to the late George O’Neil Kirkland and Beatrice Hodges Kirkland. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Walter Davis Jr., who she married on July 4, 1948.
Mrs. Davis was the eldest of four children and is survived by her brothers Gravel S. (Margaret) Kirkland and Ronnie O. (Janette) Kirkland and sister Kay Hedge (Otto) Dickman; children Jeannie (George) Knabb, David (Robin) Davis, Keith (Tammie) Davis, Lisa (Brent) Whitney and Kristi (Mark) Vorwaller; 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Davis will be held on Sunday, November 26 at 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Macclenny. Family and friends are invited to stay after the funeral for visitation and fellowship. V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services of Macclenny is in charge of arrangements.
