Pastor Freddie Bernard Walker-Ivery, 37 years old, passed away peacefully in the Arms of Jesus early on Monday, December 4, 2017 at his residence in Madison, GA.
Pastor Bernard Walker was born on November 21, 1980 in Madison, GA to Scarlett Venita Walker-Kirkland (Greg) and Freddie R. Ivery (Eva Mae). He was raised in Rutledge, GA and attended Morgan County Schools and graduated from Social Circle High School. He has been the Pastor of Randolph Baptist Church in Union Point, GA for 6 years. He was employed with the Morgan County Charter School System Transportation Department as a Bus Driver for almost 2 years. This was his dream job along with Pastoring and Singing Gospel Music.
Besides his parents, he leaves to cherish his legacy and memories of his life to his sweet precious daughter and only child, Shaliyah Bane` Ivery; grandfather, Maurice Walker; grandmother, Liza McGahe; one sister, Stephanie Ivery; one brother, Joshua Walker (Yolanda); Aunt's: Marian Walker, Sherrie Walker-Shy (Andre), Pastor Edith Sandoval, Rachal Briney, Mary McGahe; Uncles: Gary Walker and Tommy McGahe; one niece: Jakiah Walker; four nephews: Kyree, Joshua Jr. and Jayceon. He is also survived by a host of cousins, relatives, friends and beloved church members that was dear to his heart, but too numerous to list here.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Laura Etta Johnson-Walker.
Pastor Bernard Walker's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Union Springs Baptist Church, 1400 W. Main Street, Rutledge, GA 30663. Internment will follow at the Macedonia B. Church in Rutledge, GA. A Memorial celebration will be held on Friday evening, November 8, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Randolph Baptist Church, 2811 Randolph Church Road, Union Point, GA 30669. His family is receiving visitors at his home, 1120B Micha Way, Madison, GA 30650.
