John J. Riedel, 73, Pulcifer passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Shawano. John was born on April 26, 1935, to the late Joseph and Christina (Von Feldt) Riedel.

On September 10, 1960, he married Katherine Helf at St. John's Catholic Church in Little Chute.

John served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, reading and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye, Pulcifer; two sons, Richard (Kathy) Riedel, Greenville; Timothy (Joan) Riedel, Suamico; a daughter, Carla Riedel (Bennett Link), Bozeman, Mont.; two granddaughters, Emily and Hanna Riedel; sisters, Helen (Laurence) Ulrich, Neenah; Sharon Riedel, Neenah; Pat (Tom) Hesyck, Marinette, WI; brothers, Joe (Marge) Riedel, Menasha; Bill (Vivian) Riedel, Oshkosh; Jim (Nancy) Riedel, Appleton; Dave (Patricia) Riedel, Appleton; brothers-in-law, Joe Helf, Appleton; Dave (Judi) Helf, Kaukauna; Nick (Jo) Helf, Oshkosh; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Chaim) Larsen, Plano, Texas; M. Jill Helf, Appleton; Ann (Bill) Fischer, Little Chute; many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Ken Riedel; brothers, Jerry and Bob Riedel; sisters-in-law, Caroline Riedel, Judy Helf.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Gillett with Father Gallagher officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday at the Church from 9 a.m. until the time of the services. Military rites will be held by the Gillett Legion Post #300. Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil is assisting the family.
